People who own Tiger Woods PGA 08
had issues with online game play and the fact that there really wasn’t
anything new. The new Tiger Woods 09 is an absolute
stunner offering extremely brilliant graphics. The game offers nice
controls and a list of brilliant courses as well as challenges and
gaming modes. You can use the club tuner to fine tune your own club
style and use the real time swing meter to improve your swing with the
real time feedback displayed on screen. The controls aren’t too
different from the previous version of tiger woods and you also won’t be
punished harshly for less than perfect shots as well. Tiger Woods own
coach is added to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 as well
making things easier for you and you can tweak your clubs to work best
for you. PGA 09 is made up of 16 courses, the same number as 08. Some
courses include the Gary Player Country Club, Wentworth, Bay Hill,
Sheshan and Wolf Creek as well as the driving range ofcourse. One of the
best features is the ability to create you own golfer and a pretty
advanced tool at that. This goes much further even letting you add
eyebrows lol as well as adding your own photo onto the golfer. What the
game lacks in sheer number of courses it makes up in play modes. Things
like tiger challenge mode, hitting the ball a particular distance and
competing in events will earn you money on the PGA.
There is nothing i like better than to
review a new version of such a great classic game i once
enjoyed.

This time round you have to work for you skill,
earning it with the new dynamic skill progression feature. Don’t worry
if your not a good golfer you can still gain a small amount of skill
when purchasing some new gear from the ol shop.
At the end of each round (and most challenges),
your coach Haney will raise or lower your accuracy, short game, driving
and skill based on your performance on the course. You can still lose
points by playing poorly but your coach gives you the option to earn
some back again by playing target practice with your ball. Some problems
arise where coach may send you aiming in a place where no coach would
direct you to and sometimes he may say you played bad when you actually
played quite well.

Online play isn’t much different in
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 but you do have the option to play
against 3 other people online and a few other little changes have been
sited.
Things are more at ease with such features as
all players can hit their ball at the same time and some may dislike the
player colour trail that indicates your opponents ball.
GamerNet allows you to upload a hole, shot,
front or back nine, and an entire round with ease.

Online mode lets you go at what seems like and
endless pursuit of hard and very easy challenges and there are a few
bonus features in single player aswell like long drives and closest to
the pin. Tiger Woods PGA 09 appears to have no online glitches compared
to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 which was riddled with them. Notable problems
and annoyances include the inability of being able to skip the computer
players turns and especially when they get stuck for a while and putting
could have been a bit more challenging.
A great soundtrack, beautiful courses including
the water which is usually a tricky one to animate and brilliant golfer
models are all a plus but some load screens are a tad on the glitchy
side aswell as no pre swing to-swing transitions.
At the end of all this Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09
is fantastic and im sure EA will create some more purchasable courses
that can be downloaded this year. New players include Se Ri Pak and
Darren Clarke. It has been an absolute pleasure to review such a great
game staring such a great golfer.
