System Mechanic 7 and 8 Review

After using system mechanic pro for many years now i expected so much more in the release of version 7.

System mechanic 7 gets errors occasionally that say things like (catastrophic error). well doest that sound pleasing!

Tip of the ice burg anyway

One of the key components that allows the firewall, antivirus and system guard to load at windows start up fails to launch and results in me having to manually start all 3 programs from the main interface of system mechanic.

Also is the way system mechanic interferes with some of my programs resulting in them not working properly, i know this because when ive uninstalled System mechanic 7 they work fine again.

Another thing is the other errors including one that doesn't allow me to fix a security problem with a windows file.

Other than all this, the program is brilliant

Iolo claims to have fixed problems like this but i don't see it.

Also since installing version 7 the program has prompted me to download an important update on two occasions which ive done ofcourse. haven't seen any improvement at all. So now the version is 7.5 something after those two updates.

The program looks great and i haven't given up yet ill just keep waiting until iolo fixes the problems. It would be a giant shame if iolo went down hill because their quality has always been exceptional.

In all ive had no problems resulting in any file loss, so don't worry there. version 7 runs like a beta version. Oh and a very bad version at that.

Iolo firewall blocks shareaza

One of the earlier build versions of system mechanic 7 and 7.5 would love to block the popular p2p program shareaza from contacting the internet. You would typically think this would be iolo's firewall problem but doesn't seem that way when i even disables the bugger.

Summery

System mechanic 6 was a much better version but still had one or two minor bugs, im gonna say two. These were not anything to worry about because system mechanic 6 professional was a beautiful application.

System mechanic has whats called and coined by iolo, activecare 2.0 which runs in the background to speed up and keep your computer running more reliable. Its uses hardly any noticeable resources (memory) and works when your pc isnt doing anything, either you or the pc itself.

System mechanic 8 has a new 3 stage registry optimizing tool which will as usual, defrag the registry as well. This is a powerful part of any pc speed up tool.

Spyware removal tool which has been implemented in previous versions of system mechanic. Hopefully should be more powerful as you'd expect.

Drivesense is a tool that's included in system mechanic 8 and will allow you to monitor many hard drive areas such as temperature and potential disk failure.

More licences. Now you can install system mechanic 8 on three pc's with the same purchase licence.
