Palm Treo Pro Review, Pictures And Specifications

The Palm Treo Pro review reveals that it really is a pretty amazing smart phone, despite a few missing upgrades. Its lack of a flashy graphic heavy interface leaves more processing power for its main functions, multitasking and quite a bit of processing power indeed for applications. In this review of the palm treo pro we will show you palm treo pro pictures and palm treo pro specifications to really get you excited about this great smartphone from palm. The palm treo pro review has been a great one at that and we want one.

Palm Treo Pro Review With Headphones

Coming in at 400MHZ, is its Qualcomm processor MSM7201 that gets pretty jiggy with application speed. What is disappointing is its 2mpx camera, which for a mobile phone of this price tag should be a lot higher and at least have a flash. While the Palm Treo Pro looks like an Apple Iphone 3G from behind, it certainly looks different from the front with its glossy piano black outer casing and small buttons.

Some disappointments are a lack of a FM Radio, push to talk and video calling, all would have been a great addition to the Treo Pro. Not to mention that the palm treo pro pictures will only be of adequate quality from its 2mpx camera because well it really is just a 2mpx with no optical zoom.

While it looks pretty snazzy front and back, the Treo Pro’s QWERTY keys could have had some actual visual and physical differentials. Im talking about the plain, all the same look and feel of those QWERTY.s which have no distinction from touch. So it will probably take you quite a while to memorize the buttons for blind message and email sending, which is easy on a standard mobile phone handset. Being a Windows Mobile smart phone means you get access to features most standard mobile phone owners don’t have and while it lacks a snazzy GUI it certainly runs applications very fast even though it doesn’t come with many tools at all which is disappointing. This isn’t the worlds biggest problem seeing you can just jump online and start seeing what third party free applications are available.

The Palm Treo Pro’s navigation is done through the 5 way navigation key, selection buttons and the touch screen with stylus. This makes zipping through the phones various features quite fast once you develop your own shortcut style habits.

While it’s lacking a few minor features it does have a 3.5mm headphone jack, so you can plug your standard headphones right into it and not have to buy a manufactures brand. It sports a silence button right on the top of the Palm Treo Pro for quick noise cutting in delicate situations, where people usually decide to call lol. On the left hand side there is a customizable button and on the bottom is a microphone jack.

Email, sms and mms are all used with the Pocket Outlook/Messaging application and you can also have sms chats. Palm has added a setup wizard that tries to find your email providers settings automatically but if it cant find this information than you need to manually input it.

Included Software for the palm treo pro

Adobe Reader, Windows Live Messenger, Sprite Backup and stub application for Worldmate Live. It wouldn't be a smartphone without these too Excel Mobile, Word Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, and OneNote Mobile. Windows Media Player is the Treo Pro's media player and supports mp3, wma and wmv. A slide show type application, pictures/video can handle pictures and video aswell.

The quite plain home screen can have shortcuts added to it, making it quicker to access your most used harder to locate features in addition to the mostly used start menu. Well after all it is a plain looking version of Windows Mobile that lacks no features from most Windows Mobile devices and acts like a Windows computer in most ways.

Connectivity lacks none of the modern Smartphone features and consists of Wi-Fi, HSDPA web browsing and assisted GPS. The assisted GPS could have better software, that’s not to say it doesn’t do the job though. TeleNav GPS Navigator is the included software by the way.

Australian Treo fans will be able to enjoy the Palm Treo Pro on the Telstra Next G Network, well until the others get on board with more impressive features. Telstra seems like the only Telco capable of handling such advanced features at their almost full potential.

Telstra has added the Treo Pro to its list of mobile phone handsets capable of having superb network coverage in regional areas of Australia, not an easy thing to achieve. The only other phone comes from Nokia’s Nseries range, the Nokia N95. This list is referred to as the blue tick by the way, you will hear that one a bit more this year if you live in Australia.Palm Treo Pro Back View

The battery life is a bit of a kicker, draining fast even without long music and wi fi periods. Standard battery life on minimum use with standard features leaves only about 2 days and yes this is without music and wi fi as well.

If it’s a great superbly clear speaker you want then the Palm Treo Pro is for you and the volume level can be turned up quite loud which is something a lot of other mobile phones lack.

Connecting to intranet is pretty much seamless, as is Microsoft ActiveSync and installation of security certificates.

The Treo Pro really is a competitor of the Apple Iphone and Blackberry and will definitely stand on its own as a Windows Mobile Smartphone for business use. All you need is an expensive black suit and a 80 grand black company car with coffee cup holders lol.

With a price tag of AU$929, you really are better off purchasing the phone free on a contract if you are looking to get one soon. Ofcourse everybody knows the phone will be 75 percent less in price within a few months or less, but if you cant wait then go for it.

Closing Argument

While the keypad may be almost identical to last years Treo 500v and Palm Centro, its not the worst problem seeing that it really makes up for it with its other navigations. The most appealing features that the Palm Treo Pro review has revealed would have to be its superior network coverage followed by its speedy applications and menu navigation. However, slightly bigger and more distinguished buttons would make blind typing a lot more easier. Also a 3.2MPX camera would have been a lot better than the 2MPX and needs a video calling function. Push to talk and FM radio would have been nice considering this is an advanced mobile phone.

Some other missing features are GPS search bar located on the home screen aswell as a chat style SMS interface.

It would also be nice if there was a dedicated home screen return button to take you straight back to the home screen.

Problems in direct light are also a problem as it can really make it more difficult too see what you are doing in the sun.
