Nokia N82 Review (N Series)
Speaking Mobile Phone
The KNFB (Kurzweil
Technologies and the National Federation of the Blind) reading software
is making people with vision impairments enjoy a better quality life
with the reading mobile phone. We are thrilled to bring you the
nokia n82 review.
The software uses
technology known as Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to read and
speak words using the phone like a talking barcode reader. The software
can read through columns and along a whole page of text. The camera can
even read writing on an angle like a can of food for example.
This technology has been
around for quite a while but was originally much larger and Kurzweil and
NFB were the fist to create a portable version of the text to speech
software.
The Nokia N82
speaking mobile phone comes with the reading software built in,
so people that are blind can use the camera to read and speak the
writing of everyday items to them. All this doesn’t come cheap though.
Our nokia n82 review has uncovered some very interesting information and
specifications.
