HTC Touch Pro Review,
Specifications and Pictures
The HTC Touch Pro
is HTC’s latest mobile phone in the touch line. Being a business phone
means you get those really cool smart features a lot of normal phones
users usually miss out on. The HTC Touch Pro has to be one of the most
enjoyable mobile phone reviews we have ever done.
The HTC Touch Pro has a
large 2.8 inch touch slide away screen that reveals a QWERTY keypad
underneath, which is hidden for a cleaner look. The simple but still
stylish look and feel is what sets the HTC Touch Pro
apart from many other mobile phone handsets plus the screen will
automatically change to landscape view when you slide it.
The HTC Touch Pro uses the
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system (OS) that allows for
those business applications like mobile word, mobile excel, mobile
PowerPoint and mobile outlook for your email.
HTC have included HSDPA for
high speed downloads to the handset as well as WI FI and GPS. Ive really
gotta say that the HTC Touch Pro review has been the
best phone review ive ever done.
HTC have also included a
3.2mpx camera which is always good to see in an advanced stylish phone.
Luckily the HTC Touch Pro comes with auto focus as well
which has been a downside to some other mobile phones in the past from
all the big players.
A MiniSD 2.0 port allows
for your MiniSD card, which is where most of your data is going to be
stored once your internal memory is used up.
This is one of my
favourites, the resolution on that 2.8 inch screen is a nice
480 x
640. However the number of screen colours could have been better on the
HTC Touch Pro coming in at 65,536 colours.
A nice
Qualcomm MSM7201A processor should run windows mobile 6.1 pro with ease
seeing it has 528MHz behind it and 288MB of RAM and 512MB of built in
ROM.
HTC has included their own
TouchFlo UI technology into the touch pro which allows you to use finger
gestures to actually perform certain tasks like opening messages,
internet or music functions. This sort of technology is somewhat similar
to the Apple Iphone 3G with its ability to control image functions etc.
The HTC Touch Pro supports
the following networks:
WCDMA
900/2100MHz
3G
networks
GSM
850/900/1800/1900MHz
2G
networks
HSDPA
allows you to download from the internet fast and the HTC Touch Pro
allows up to 7.2Mbit/s while GPRS/EDGE can be used if your only in a 2G
network.
WiFi is
also supported, with a 802.11b/g included internal chipset.
The usual Bluetooth and USB
are included thank god with support for the
A2DP profile.
The TV out port allows you
to hook your HTC Touch Pro up to a TV and view things like videos,
pictures and documents etc.
The Touch Pro acts as a GPS
receiver allowing you to navigate yourself to your destination turn by
turn with the navigation software.
A 3.2mpx camera with flash
light and auto focus is ok but I would have liked to have seen a 5mpx
for such a promising mobile phone. The HTC Touch Pro also supports video
calling through the secondary camera on the front of the handset.
The Pro
has up to 378/419min talk time (3G/2G) and up to 462/367hrs (3G/2G) of
standby time with its 1340mAh lithium-ion battery. Video calling is
expected to last up to 189 minutes on the HTC Touch Pro.
The HTC
Touch Pro may be a little big for some people coming in at 102 x 51 x
18.05mm and 165g, but a big feature phone needs to be big to fit
everything in.
